How Can eye Floaters Be Treated?

I have some eye floaties in my left eye, I ve had small ones before, but yesterday a couple of larger ones that are almost clumpy in nature appeared. the kind that move around with your eye movement, and today a small dark dot appeared as well. I m 63, and understand this may be a normal aging thing, but wanted to inquire about it. thanks

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Presence of floaters in the vision field might be due to retinal detachment. It is important that you see your doctor and have an eye exam called slit lamp examination. This will visualize the retina in both eyes and make sure if there is any problem with the retina that might be causing it.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj,
